   Proposal Description:
   Depression is associated with cognitive impairment and dementia, but whether      antidepressant use affect cognition is still uncertain. The present study         sought to investigate whether there were associations between antidepressant      use and cognitive functioning. We intend to use previously collected clinical     data from NACC on participants with normal cognitive functioning at baseline to   address the following specific Aims:a) To describe clinical characteristics of    individuals using antidepressants and not using aitidepressents.b)To examine      whether the use of antidepressant is associated with rate of conversion fron      normal to MCI and dementia.c)To adress the associations of depression symptoms    and clinical diagnosis of MCI and dementia.
